Counselor Spotlight: Olivia Pierce, LPC

May 15, 2019

Meet Olivia Pierce!  Olivia is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and  Certified TeleMental Health Practitioner.  She has worked with older adolescents, adults, and couples for 12+ years.

Olivia was raised in the Army and later married into the Air Force.  She has worked in private practice and for the Department of the Air Force providing counseling to diverse populations, including active duty military, their family members, and individuals dealing with the complex issues surrounding grief, anxiety, depression, PTSD, destructive behaviors, negative thinking patterns, and other work/life issues, such as career transition.

Olivia has found no one is immune from sadness, fear, anger, or hopelessness.  She believes when emotions can be re-framed into signals, they can propel us to do something different.  Olivia therefore views herself as a research assistant, encouraging clients to experiment with their worlds, do one thing differently, and notice when they are experiencing their best hopes.  Olivia assist clients in shifting their attention toward what they actually want and away from what they don’t want.  She empowers others in their strengths to live their best life.   Olivia incorporates several therapeutic orientations, such as Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Cognitive Processing, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Olivia is also trained and certified as a Gottman Facilitator for the Bringing Baby Home Program; The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People; and the Prevention & Relationship Enhancement Program.

Olivia has a genuine desire and heart to make a difference in the lives of others!  One of her favorite quotes is "No one can go back and make a brand new start, my friend; but anyone can start from now and make a brand new end."  -Anonymous
